Heyya!!!

I have been in to one of our deputy head's office today (tut tut what a naughty girl) and she told me, Grace, Harriet, Brad & Adam (from 2006's year 6's at Filton Hill) that we have been chosen to.........get ready for it..............

come back to primary school!!!!!!!! We'll be working with the year 3's on the 6th May all about our community and building HUGE models!!! I can't wait!!! I'm so excited to see you all again!!! Do you think you can put up with us for an afternoon??? I hope so because I love Filton Hill!!! (Although I have to admit Filton High is SO the BEST HIGH SCHOOL!!!) We've been shown what they hope will be what the new school looks like. It's SO cool!!! Bring on the huge eco friendly school!!! It should all be done by 2010/11 just in time for most of the kids from filton hill to join!!!
Love to all the teachers (Special shout outs to Mrs McFarlane, Mrs Conradi who's going to train me into a teacher one day, The 1 and only Mrs Terrific Thomas, Mrs Adams and her lovely lil family and Mrs Edwards i'm taller than you without my heels now teehee) and pupils and choir which has a special place in my heart as without the filton hill choir i would of never made it through primary school, FILTON HILL ROCKS! Once again I've gone on and on and on so i'll give it a rest and save it for 6th May. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hello again, visited the site a few times last year. Would visit the school but only remember one teacher from the whole list of them that I found on here. How are things going, just a bit curious as to how things run now and what the site looks like etc. Got any part time jobs at all, need some income? Haha, I'm a qualified 5-a-side Football Referee... In Education news though, still at University studying film production. Hoping to get one film screened at a festival in Cheltenham. Here's a link to the film - http://www.nightshift.co.nr/ - Don't worry, it's entirely work friendly. Nothing to worry about there.

/Aaron Eamer.
Reply - Hi Aaron! You should remember me (Miss Quinn) and Mrs Conradi and Mrs MacFarlane (Miss Cox)!! Good to hear from you - I love it when past pupils look us up. Your film is excellent - just watched it and dare I say, made me glad I work 'normal' hours! Say hello to Amy for me too - does she still keep rats? I've now got two cats and a dog, so no more rats for me!

I've just spent an enjoyable couple of hours on my one day off (when I should have been doing housework!) browsing through your photos, desperately looking for one of my child (I did find a couple) and just wanted to say how pleased I am to have discovered your web site. You might want to consider publicising it a bit better so that even more parents can enjoy it in the future. I look forward to LOTS more photos.
Reply - So pleased you found us!! We do put the address at the top of newsletters and try to let children know that new photos have been put on. I'll ask Ms Lemming to put an article in the next newsletter. Now get back to the housework!

Reply - Yes, they are correct. The Easter bank holidays (2008) will form a long weekend within term 4 and not part of the subsequent two-week holiday.

Mrs Lemming, Just wanted to say how how the older boys at the breakfast club(Taylor Anderson & friends) have made Russell so welcome. He's been wanting to come along but said he was to scared. Yesturday I dropped him off they called him to their table and helped him get his breakfast, today (Thursday) a lad called him from the back of the line to stand with him. What a credit to the school (and parents of course). Thanks lads!! Karen Stone.

The holidays were so hectic I never had time to thank you all for the wonderful CD, of Ebony's reception yr. It was lovely, and we all enjoyed watching it. It's extra special to us, as Ebony's grandparents live in Jamaica,{my in-laws} and Aunts, an Uncles in New York, and Florida, copies were sent to them, and they were delighted to see all that she has been doing in her 1st yr at school, and Ebony enjoyed posting them all off, {she refused to pay the postage though!}. Thank you.

We were called the Purple Cobras and by the way, I'm making lots of freinds and we do water fight quadbiking and lots other cool stuff! We go in Limos around swindon and there's all kind of sport. I can't say the rest, my hands are going to hurt! Please reply soon p.s amazing summer!

It has been another wonderful year and as always, I will greatly miss having my class with me every day. However, I will enjoy seeing them in Year 1 facing new challenges. I want to say thank you very much for the wonderful presents I was given, the children said it was like Christmas and it was!
I was really touched by the comments I have read this morning about the Reception CD we made as their leaving present. It ended up over 20 mins and as Miss Hake has already said, we could have made it even longer. It has been such a rewarding and enjoyable year. Happy Holidays to all the children and their families and with a bit of luck, we may actually see the sun! Mrs Adams :-)

I would just like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped out at school today. We were all disappointed that the Woodhouse trip couldn't go ahead as planned. But the effort put in by all certainly made up for it. The children loved the activities and the food was delicious. I can't thank everyone individually, but a special thanks must go to the fathers who manned the barbeques and the parents who kept the food lines moving!

Most of all, a big thank you to Miss Hake and Mrs Adams for all the work they put in. It will not go to waste as we are planning to go to Woodhouse in the new term.

All my children enjoyed themselves and the experiences offered today. I had a blast!

My grandaughter Autumn-Leigh Emery in year 4 did the Race For Life at Tredegar Park near Newport with her aunt last sunday. It was appalling weather and they were soaking wet before the race started and covered in mud and freezing cold by the end. We are all very proud of her for taking part and for raising over £100.00 for cancer relief. No doubt she will have brought her medal to school to show you, it is a great achievement and i think next year both her and Willow will be taking part.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I just went through the gallery. There I could not find any of Year 2 photos. So, I was little upset and wrote. I knew fully well that it is not possible to satisfy everybody. As human being all are selfish. They want their ward photos. Anyhow I was pleased to read your reply.
Reply - I will ask Mr Lacey to take some photographs and either I will teach him how to put them on or I will do it myself. I need to remind teachers that it is their responsibility to put on photographs of their classes.

I absolutely agree with Mrs Damson's comments re: Mrs Lemming becoming the head. It's wonderful to have a teacher as commited to Filton Hill and the children there becoming Head of the school. As a parent I found Mrs Lemming to be a very approachable and kind person, whilst only meeting her at parent evenings I feel confidant that Mrs Lemming will lead the school well with a firm but kind hand. My son adored her as his teacher! I hope Mrs Lemming a long and happy time as head of Filton Hill.

Hello again.
Read the list of teachers and I don't think I had any of them when I was back in School. Thinking about it though... I did leave about eight years or so ago. I'm now studying Film Production at University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham although still live in Bristol.

You should get some other Sports being taught to the school rather than just Football. It's one of the things I really wish I'd been taught more of when I was younger as I've now got into both Basketball and American Football and could've been playing them from a much younger age.

Reply - Hello Aaron! I remember both you and your sister. We looked after each other's rats if you remember! I'll have a look at your website. We do teach quite a range of sports, certainly not just football! One of the newer teachers is a huge basketball fan! Mrs Thomas (Miss Quinn)

(Just checked you site - really great but as there are some 'interesting' comments from other people I can't add it as a link on our website!)

I also think parents who drive their children to school should make sure they are looking everywhere. I also have nearly been hit by a car who had come up onto the pavement. I didn't have my daughter with me but there were lots of child still making their way to school. I don't know what the answer to this BIG problem as I know parents do have to drive and then go on to work. Let's hope a child doesn't get hit before these parents wake up to themselves.
Reply - This is such a difficult question to answer - there is a travel plan being put together to try to solve some issues.

I know I have said loads of times before about the parking outside the school but today after collecting my son from school we came out if the gates and a very lazy parent was parked on the pavement, then as we started to walk a few feet from the gate a lady driver came onto the pavement behind me and there was no need I think she was just to to park there as she seen someone else parked, I was aware of her and held onto my son who is in reception but she did still nearly hit another little boy who was behind me, who's parent did say something to her and I heard the lady say I'm sorry I didn't see him. What these people need to realise is that the small children do tend to run along the pavement to catch up with there friends and they aren't doing anything wrong as they have every right to be on the pavement and car drivers dont. Please think as a child is going to get seriously hurt.... PLEASE THINK................
Reply - This is very worrying indeed. I will pass it straight on to Ms Lemming.

I loved camp, the best part of it was when I shared a room with my best friend ever - Josie. I missed everyone, even the school and the teachers! Hope had fun to all the teachers when we were at fab camp!

I know that letters have gone out before regarding parents parking on the pavement, but today it was terrible I came to collect my child from school who is in reception, and to see so many lazy parents parking on the pavement and within a couple of 100 yards from the school gate. Could they please be more considerate of other children and parents with prams, as I'll feel the parents taht park on the pavement would be the first to complain if there child got knocked down by a car. We should do what Filton Avenue are doing by taking the numbers and passing them to the Police so that the parents and be named and shamed.
A concerned parent.
Reply - Thank you for highlighting this problem - will pass directly to head teacher.

Hi everyone!!!!!
High school is great! Missing you all lots - Mrs McFarlane and I'm really missing Mrs T, Mrs Goodall, Mrs Adams, well everyone really. I made a fruit salad in school today, I'm having it judged and tasted tonight, I'm really worried! I used mango, strawberries, kiwi and banana with orange juice. I'm going to make a flying visit this week so be prepared. It's a surprise so I'm not telling you when I'm coming! I hope everything's going alright at Filton Hill. I hope to keep intouch with you all too! If any staff would like my e-mail address, Mrs Adams has the details. Hope everyone's well, see you all soon, Hannah xxx
